Questions About Our Toys

Here are our most commonly asked questions regarding our bird toys.

General toy safety

We try to be very diligent in all aspects of toy making, from the materials used to the way they are used.

Every bird plays differently, and it is ultimately your responsibility to ensure that the things you give to your bird are safe.

We use beads with some of our toys, and we emphasize which species is most appropriate based on these bead sizes. All our toy materials are listed in the material section. If you have any questions about any aspect of my toys, please send us a message.

What metals do you use?

We only use stainless steel wire and nickel-plated metals.

You'll be able to find this information in each toy in the "materials" section on the type of metal we used.

Our metal wires are 16-gauge and stainless steel. Our metal chains, 0-rings, and screw eyes are nickel-plated.

Do you add pear/quick links to each toy?

By default, we do not include quicklinks, as people have their own preferences. Only wood toys that have screw rings or screw eyes will come with quicklinks.

Additionally, some customers have hand and mobility limitations, which make using Quicklinks difficult and strenuous. Our customers who fit into these categories often opt for plastic links as they're easier to use.

For these reasons, we opted out of adding them to every toy. This prevents waste by not giving something to someone that they can't or won't use, keeps our costs down by only sending things that are wanted, and keeps prices lower.

After reports or hearing pear links causing potential injury to smaller-sized parrots, we have decided not to include them in our toys. We only offer quicklinks. 

How are your toys dyed?

We use Americolor or Ann Clark to dye our toys. It is human-grade food gel that we dilute with water.

What types of birds do you cater to?

Our store caters to a diverse range of avian enthusiasts. Whether you have a parrot, canary, finch, or any other feathered friend, we offer a variety of products tailored to meet the unique needs of different bird species.

Are your toys safe for all bird species?

Yes, safety is our top priority. Our toys are made from non-toxic materials like untreated wood, natural materials, and stainless steel. However, it's important to choose toys that are appropriate for the size and beak strength of your bird to prevent any potential hazards. For instance, sola might be too soft for a larger species or pine wood may be hard to shred for smaller species.

How do I choose the right toy for my bird?

When selecting a toy, consider your bird's size, beak strength, and personality. For example, parrots often enjoy durable chew toys, while smaller birds like finches may prefer lightweight toys they can easily manipulate. We also recommend rotating toys regularly to keep your bird engaged. If you need additional suggestions and help, please send us an email and we'll gladly help narrow down your options.

Do you offer eco-friendly or natural bird toys?

Yes, we carry a variety of eco-friendly and natural bird toys made from sustainable materials like bamboo, coconut shell, and sisal rope. These toys are not only safe for your bird but also better for the environment.

Do you sell toys specifically for large birds like macaws?

We have a dedicated selection of toys for large birds, including macaws, cockatoos, and African greys. These toys are designed to withstand strong beaks and provide the mental and physical stimulation that larger birds need.

Are your toys safe for small animals?

When customers place an order, we generally assume the toys are intended for birds, as all our products are specifically designed and tested to be safe for them. Because of this focus, we cannot guarantee that every item will be suitable for small animals. If you have a small pet, please let us know so we can help ensure the toy is safe and appropriate for your furry friend.

We warmly welcome small animal owners to explore our selection, but kindly ask that you carefully review the materials listed for each toy. Some materials—such as mahogany pods—may not be safe for certain rodents, and some toys include small beads that could pose a choking hazard. Additionally, some owners prefer toys without metals.

If you have any questions or would like to request modifications—such as replacing or removing parts like beads, mahogany pods, or metals—please don’t hesitate to reach out. Your pet’s safety and well-being are very important to us, and we’re here to help you find the best options.

Return policy on bird toys

At Feather Beautiful, the safety and well-being of your bird are our top priorities. Due to the unique nature of our products, we adhere to a strict Zero Return Policy on Bird Toys. This policy means that all sales of bird toys are final, and we do not accept returns or exchanges under any circumstances.

Why a Zero Return Policy on Bird Toys?

  • Hygiene and Safety: Bird toys come into direct contact with your pets, and their hygiene is critical to prevent the spread of disease or contamination. Returning used or even opened toys could pose a risk to other birds, so we cannot restock or resell these items.
  • Product Integrity: Once a bird toy has left our store, we cannot guarantee its condition. To ensure that every customer receives a new, uncontaminated product, we cannot accept any returns.
  • Bird-Specific Use: Bird toys are often chewed, pecked, or otherwise altered by birds during play. These changes make it impossible to resell the product or ensure it remains safe for another bird.

Refund policy on missing, broken or lost packages

While we do not accept returns, we stand behind the quality of our products. If you receive a defective or damaged toy, please contact us within 24 hours of receiving your order. We will work with you to resolve the issue, which may include offering a replacement or store credit at our discretion.

Import Fees, Tariffs & Customs Disclaimer

Please be aware that all international orders may be subject to import duties, tariffs, taxes, and additional fees imposed by the destination country. These charges are the sole responsibility of the recipient and must be paid upon delivery. We do not have control over these charges and cannot estimate their amount in advance.

We strongly recommend contacting your local customs office for detailed information before placing your order to avoid unexpected charges or delays.

By placing an international order with us, you agree to comply with all applicable laws and regulations of the destination country. Failure to pay any required tariffs, duties, or fees may result in your package being delayed, held by customs, returned to us, or destroyed. In such cases, we are not liable for any resulting costs, including the original shipping charge, return shipping, or any additional fees.

Can I modify my order after placing it?

We’re happy to offer small customizations to your order—such as adding or removing beads, toy parts, or making other light changes. If you'd like to request any adjustments, please be sure to either leave a note at checkout (which we can view with your order) or email us directly at featherbeautiful@hotmail.com as soon as possible after placing it.

To ensure your order is processed and shipped in a timely manner, we often begin preparing it shortly after it’s placed. Because of this, we’re unfortunately unable to make any changes once the shipping label has been purchased and the package is ready to go.

If you need to make a change, please don’t hesitate to reach out right away—we’ll do our very best to help. Once your order has shipped, though, we’re not able to make further modifications.

As we approach the upcoming months, here are some key dates to mark on your calendar. These events are significant for various reasons, from cultural and religious celebrations to major shopping events.

Please be mindful that Eid sales follow the Lunar/Hijri calendar, which is why the dates are not set. Every year, on our FAQ page and socials, we will let you know the dates ahead of time. Black Friday also falls on different days every year. Again, we will give everyone approximate dates to keep an eye on each year.

If there are any other sales outside these dates, an announcement through emails and social media accounts will be made.

Make sure to prepare ahead for these important dates, whether you're planning to celebrate with family and friends or take advantage of the shopping deals.

Can I cancel and order after placing it?

If you need to cancel your order, please contact us as soon as possible at featherbeautiful@hotmail.com.

We begin processing orders shortly after they're placed to ensure a quick turnaround. Because of this, we may not be able to cancel an order once it has entered the processing or shipping stage. That said, we’ll do our best to accommodate your request if timing allows.

Do you offer international shipping?

We proudly ship to most countries worldwide. However, due to the new GPSR (General Product Safety Regulation) requirements, we are currently unable to ship to countries within the EU and Northern Ireland. As a small business, navigating these complex regulations presents significant challenges, but we are actively working toward solutions to expand our shipping options in the future.

We encourage you to join our newsletter to receive the latest updates on our shipping policies and any changes regarding availability to your region.

How can I track my order?

In order for you to track your order, you would need to pick a shipping method that allows tracking. This comes with additional costs. Once your order has been shipped, you will receive an email with a tracking number. You can use this number to track your order on our website or directly through the carrier's website.

Do you have a physical store?

No. Currently, all our toys are sold through online means.

Do you offer wholesale?

Thank you for your interest, but we currently do not offer wholesale options.
