Our current flock memers
Currently, I have four birds. Each one brings their own unique personality to the flock. Learn more about them down below.
Blossom
lossom joined our family on 11 October 2018, and she holds a very special place in my heart. I had the joy of hand-weaning her, which was a truly beautiful and rewarding experience.
She’s an independent spirit who loves spending time on her seagrass perch, foraging and playing on her own. Her favourite toys always involve crinkle paper and sola, which she happily shreds to pieces.
While Blossom enjoys her alone time, she also loves quiet, one-on-one moments with me. She's always been a curious and explorative little bird, never afraid to check out new spaces.
Her top treat is millet, but she also enjoys almond slices, oat groats, and the occasional strawberries.
She’s a calm yet adventurous presence in the flock—and a daily reminder of how special the bond with a bird can be.

Muffin
Muffin came into my care on 2 August 2019, and like Blossom, I had the joy of hand-weaning her. Her weaning journey came with a few hiccups, and after some vet visits, we learned that her vision isn’t the strongest. She’s not fully blind, but likely sees shadows more than detail.
That hasn’t slowed Muffin down one bit. She’s a dedicated forager, often using the bottom of the cage to search for treasures—so we set up foraging trays just for her. She’s also a total veggie enthusiast—there’s nothing she won’t try, and she eats every bite!
Her favourite treat is millet, but she also loves almond slices, chia seeds, and oats. Above all, Muffin is deeply bonded with me. She’s affectionate, gentle, and always eager for time together—truly a softie at heart.
She’s a quiet force in the flock and a reminder that resilience comes in many forms.

Sky
Sky joined the flock on 22 February 2022, and he’s named after the beautiful shade of blue in his feathers—truly one of the most striking budgies I’ve ever seen.
His absolute favourite activity is swinging on his custom seagrass swing, which I made just for him. Lately, Sky has become especially fond of Muffin, and the two are often side by side. In fact, they sleep right next to each other every night, even though Sky is a budgie and Muffin a cockatiel—it’s a sweet, unexpected bond.
After the loss of his bonded partner Ocean, I knew Sky needed companionship. He’s one of those birds who truly thrives with a friend, so I adopted him a new companion from the shelter.
While Sky tolerates my presence, we’re still on our taming journey. He’ll happily step up for millet, and I’m proud of the small steps we’re making together. He also loves bathing and can spend ages shredding anything with crinkle paper.
Sky’s gentle spirit and growing confidence remind me that trust takes time—and that every bird’s pace is worth honouring.

Olive Bloom
For over a year now, I’ve been hoping to adopt another budgie—specifically for Sky, so he could have a companion again. When I spotted this little guy at PetSmart (on a completely unrelated trip!), something just felt right. I applied through Brampton Animal Services, and I’m so happy to share that he’s finally home.
Everyone, meet Olive Bloom!
His official hatchday is May 31, 2024, and his gotcha day is July 26, 2025—he’s still very young, and I’m so excited to watch his personality blossom as he settles in. He’s a little shy (as I was told), but I truly think he just needed stimulation and comfort. After adding a few toys to his setup, he’s already showing signs of curiosity and playfulness!
He came from an all-seed diet, so we’ll be working on transitioning him to something more balanced and nutritious. I can’t wait to see how he bonds with Sky and finds his place in our little flock.
Here’s to new beginnings with Olive Bloom—stay tuned for more updates on his journey!
